So it has been 2 months since i've built my pc and no problems thus far except for an annoying electrical / static sound coming from around the cpu part (not 100% sure) of the mobo. Basicly it sounds like an HDD ticking but there is no HDD installed.

Its not the fans either, checked for a cable hitting the fan already and nothing can be seen. however, the sound only occurs when the PC is idle it seems. Running Cinebench will eliminate the sound completely, therefor i believe the sound might be from power saving options or some sort. Any help would be appreciated.

  • X370 taichi

  • Ryzen 1700X

  • GTX 1080 sea hawk X

  • Thermaltake toughpower grand RGB 750W

  • M2.960evo

Have not checked the fan motor yet. the fans are brand new so it might be possible. will check after work and get back to you. appreciate the help.

" rel="nofollow - I am just curious is there many cases with taichi electrical/noise? I think I saw one on reddit 4 months and one from overclock forum 2-3 months ago....

yes, i noticed these threads aswell. unfortunately, there is no real solution yet. some people mentioned it disappeared when they the Vcore to a certain voltage others denied that. I will troubleshoot when im at home and will try to record the sound. if there is a solution I will update the post.

It might even be related to the new bios version since i read about some issue with voltages, or maybe im going crazy.

Noise comes from CPU C6->normal->C6.
No noise if CPU load 100%.
Same happen on AB350M Pro4 with 9600, but first time this happen to me with some intel@gigabyte.
