In case this helps someone else out, if you can't get the board to post and get 5 beeps out of the speaker, it isn't a CPU error as I found via troubleshooting guides. It's actually a VGA card error: either missing or bad.

I was seriously about to RMA my CPU, but then stumbled on the right search terms. I saw the  http://www.asrock.com/support/faq.asp%3Fid=389" rel="nofollow - FAQ  that said CPUs without integrated graphics, like Ryzen, need a VGA card. Unlike older motherboards that had console output, UEFI boards apparently won't post at all without a card. That didn't even occur to me, I was trying to debug the problem like it was an old BIOS motherboard.

So, 5 beeps: add a graphics card, or test your card to make sure it works.

Thanks so much for this -- as a first time builder this was causing me a lot of frustration and worry trying to fix!

Clear CMOS! Even a few times won't hurt.

Chexk if all components are seated properly. Even better - re-seat them all.

Check power cables, esp. the GPU one. 570 should have an aux power cable.

Thanks a lot for the feedback. It turned out to be a bad power supply. I connected to my tester and sure enough one of the 12 volts was dead. Shame new Raidmax out of the box.
Thanks again!

For me i had that error with m.2 SSD issue. Still not sure if it was placed in incomparable slot, or slot itself was broken. But placing same SSD in second slot solved the issue.

Quite surprised why SSD even caused PC from proper booting. It's not vital piece of equipment, supposed to just SSD not working, if placed "incorrectly"
