Just wondering if there's something I'm missing about using the USB3 header on this motherboard. I've plugged in a 2 port PCI slot style ports. They have power. And plugging in USB sticks produces some errors in linux dmesg, but it can't 'enumerate' or access the devices. All the other ports (including front panel 2.0) work fine.  I notice in the specifications it says: - 2 x USB 2.0 Headers (Support 3 USB 2.0 ports) (Supports ESD Protection (ASRock Full Spike Protection)) - 1 x USB 3.1 Gen1 Header (Supports 2 USB 3.1 Gen1 ports) (Supports ESD Protection (ASRock Full Spike Protection))* *USB3_0_1 is shared with USB_0_1. Does that mean I can't use the USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 header at the same time? What does it mean? I couldn't find any BIOS settings for it either. USB sticks plugged in to the USB 3.0 header also don't show up in BIOS boot menu. Is that normal? |

Seems there is a hardware limitation on this board and you can't use the USB 2 and USB 3 headers at the same time. But there is another one port USB 2 header that does work at the same time as the USB 3 in my testing. Here's the reply from tech support: Dear Customer, Thank you for contacting ASRock.
*USB3_0_1 is shared with USB_0_1. " means that can't use the USB 2 and USB 3 header at the same time.
