Hi i need to know what is the cause of delay or not booting sometimes for about 5-10 secs it will restart 1 or 2 times then the asrock post will appear and its ok so on. I just overclock r5 1600 3.6ghz 1.3volts and ram 2666mhz the temp is fine idle about 35c while gaming 55c on stock cooler. I have the latest bios 3.20.

But its running in windows fine.

chubalz, please post details of your build as in my signature.  I suspect your memory/OC is the problem.  I suspect the delay is caused by the Advanced Training during POST.  You can disable this but I don't know the consequences.  I suspect (too much probably) it is down grading your memory timings to get a successful boot.  Please run CPU-Z and compare the memory settings to what you think you set.  After you post your specifications, I think some memory tuners will help you.  Enjoy, John.

chubalz, your memory is not on the qualified list but still may run.  Hopefully the memory experts will comment soon.  I would open the BIOS and hit F9 (Load UEFI Defaults) and see if you problem goes away.  You can save your profile first.  Please post your CPU-Z results.  Enjoy, john.

We have different ram. Is it ok?

yes let me explain

the SOC stands for system on chip, it is where the memory controller resides

so we increase the soc volts to beef-up the memory controller ability

i would suggest we overshoot for stability and then when stable we can fine tune and lower the volts back down

so SOC to 1.1volts
and also dram voltage to 1.375 volts

this should bring this cpu/ram settings stable for you

test for a day or so to check and then
drop ram back to 1.35
test day
drop soc to 1.0

if you loose stability at any stage then you know what part is causing it

" rel="nofollow - p.s.

your actual cpu volts is within expected range for 3.6ghz

but i worked on a r5 1600 the other day and it needed 1.35 to remain stable 24/7, yet another identical cpu on identical board does it below 1.3 volts both at 3.8ghz

the point im making is you may well find you need to bump the actual cpu up a little as well

p.p.s.
why are you using an old bios version ?
later bios as a rule are better at dram settings

" rel="nofollow - Yep. I noticed also in cpuz that sometimes it reach 1.35 volts to 1.38 volts.

So what is ur recommendation of my cpu? Can it reach 3.8ghz on 1.35 volts? Or what? Im using stock cooler

Im using latest bios which is 3.20

yes the r5 1600 usually is fine at 3.8 with 1.35 volts

but !

this is not what im asking you to do at the moment

let us FIRST make your pc stable

please try soc at 1.1 volts
dram at 1.375 volts
and test for stability

and test for cold starting/booting
e.g. switch off wait 5 mins and start the pc to check it is doing this correctly

when entering options what does the left coloum say eg 0.900 ?

then add the preset 60mv/120mv to equal 1.1

eg 0.900 + 180mw equals 1.08

hmmm weird
usually the value already running should show there

e.g. like your ram values in the pictures

i wouldnt like to suggest what offset value to enter in your bios as i dont use tham on my taichi
mine is far more simple and logical, i simply enter the voltage i want and thats it !
i was happy enough to ask you to try 60mv as its the lowest (safest) increase

im afraid you will have to wait until other people are online to suggest what offset number to use then to end up with 1.1 volt (other people have the same offset volt thing in bios )

*i do wonder very very much ,exactly why and how it is so difficult for asrock NOT to make our bios more similar with regards to these things*

ALL I WANTED TO DO was ask you to try dram at 1.375 volts and soc at 1.1 volts

the bios isnt helping us try and help you Ouch

yes but i dont think it can save settings for the next restart Unhappy

hence why it really needs to be all set up in bios

in the meantime you could try bumping up the volts to cpu ad check that isnt causing an issue
maybe try 1.35 vcore and see if that cures the issue

but i do feel its more related to the ram

Correct. It didnt save settings after restart in ryzen master.

I just try now SOC +60mv because i have try +120mv and no post and keeps restarting on post.

Btw the default Soc is .950 volts to reach 1.10 it shud be +120mv but it failed.

Hoepfuly +60mv will give me stable

can i point out another thing

your still using a very early version of bios

this will not help your ram compatability
later version 3.0 adds massive assistance to ram
and theres version 3.1 and 3.2 after that

" rel="nofollow - ok i have just seen your signature is out of date
you say you are on bios 3.2

right
have you actually tried increasing your cpu vcore volts ?

to say maybe 1.35v
and test the system then ?

if its stable then the boot up issue is due to the cpu not getting enough juice on cold start

yes its a very good cooler for a freebee

remember were testing a thoery to try and find a solution here im not suggesting we set and leave it there forever anyway
but theres plenty of reviewers that run 1.35 for a r5 1600 overclock
