" rel="nofollow - Hi.

Bought this motherboard with an Intel Kaby Lake i5-7600T CPU.

When I tried to boot Linux from USB drive (ubuntu 17.10 , ubuntu 17.04 , Arch Linux) it just
show the boot menu and after 3-5 sec it shutdown.

I have a sufficient PSU and Kingston Memory, so I suspect there are some compatible problems.

As YOUR DON'T have a newer BIOS , 1 year old, I really can't do any upgrade here.

ANY SUGGESTIONS here before I return the motherboard ???

Thanks Michael.

Tried everything..

I have the newest bios version 1.10

Secure Boot - Off
CMS enabled
Legacy mode etc etc.

Even a fresh linux 4.13.x installed SSD just don't boot.

If There is a little tip then I need to know it, running out of options.

Dear Michaelvv,

Thank you for choosing ASRock.

Regarding your case, we have tested in our lab, can boot up into Ubuntu 16.04 in UEFI mode properly.

This is our system configuration:

CPU: i5-7600T

RAM: Kingston KVR21S15D8/8

BIOS: P1.10 (Default setting)

Please use Ubuntu 16.04 and boot up in UEFI mode to try.

Thank you!

Yours truly,

ASRock TSD

" rel="nofollow - hi.

I have managed to Use the Board on a ubuntu 17.04 server, If I disabled the power management in the BIOS. Writing on the Ubuntu thread here : https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2374647

It's a well known thing that Kaby Lake requires at least kernel 4.10 for stable operation under linux so
ubuntu 16.4 is absolutely a no go. I'll keep this post updated. Right now I'm test mode running on my new board.
