Edit 2:
Problem solved.

Just as I suspected, it was necessary to use a USB port directly on the motherboard.

I was initially using a "front panel" USB port on my case. The Instant Flash instructions do not mention anything regarding which USB port should be used, but if your UEFI has to reboot before it can apply the update, then it may need the USB drive connected directly to a port on the motherboard.

Original post:

" rel="nofollow - I'm trying to upgrade UEFI from 1.10 to 1.16 (beta), but I cannot seem to get it to install.

  1. Download the 1.16 UEFI file
  2. Unzip 1.16 UEFI upgrade to the root of a FAT32 USB drive
  3. Reboot and enter UEFI and select Instant Flash
  4. Instant Flash detects the USB drive and shows the 1.16 file
  5. Click Update, and a window opens saying something along the lines of UEFI upgrade will continue after reboot; click to reboot and then wait a few seconds (this window opens instantly; there is no progress bar for the update like I've seen in the Asrock UEFI upgrade videos)
  6. Clicking OK or whatever the button says, the PC reboots and then goes on to boot Windows from my SSD
  7. Rebooting again and entering UEFI, I'm still on version 1.10

What am I doing wrong?
