" rel="nofollow - Hello,
got my HP Windows MR HMD with BT controllers and thought i don't need my BT Dongle, because the Taichi X399 has Bluetooth onboard. So activated in bios, drivers are installed, no errors, trying to pairing the controllers - nothing. Only when i hold the controllers much closer to my tower he founds an input device but lost connection immediately.
With my BT USB dongle no problems so far. Within in seconds pairing, connecting, correct identifying of left and right motion controller.
Is the onboard Bluetooth module of the Taichi X399 really so bad?
Marcus

" rel="nofollow - I have a X399 FPG (but it is the same Intel Chipset) and don't have any problems with pairing my phone or BT speaker with it. You use ASRock-provided drivers or newest from Intel? I would recommend the second option and don't depend on the drivers you will find on the ASRock website.

" rel="nofollow - Installed are the Intel drivers version 20.10.0.5 from 15.10.2017.
@datonyb: Do you mean the screws direct on the WiFi module on the board?

OceanBlue72, I think datonyb is talking about the two antennae that screw into the SMA connectors on the back panel. It would be a surprise to me if the BT used these antennae. Wi-Fi and BT both use the 2.4 GHz channel, so I assume the antenna would work for both. So, please screw the two antennae to the connectors and see if that helps. Please let us hear your results. Enjoy, John.

You absolutely need the antenna's to be connected for BT and honestly for my system the included ones were not good enough for my PS4 dual shock while sitting 3ft away from the machine. Luckily I had an external wired stand from an old add in card that the antenna end fitted onto. By just moving the antenna from behind the PC to the mid point and on top of the PC case closer to me by ~1ft I get perfect reception now with BT.

LurkerLito, MisterJ and datonyb - you are absolutely right - many thanks! I thought the antennas are only for wlan - shame on me.
And the reason for my "noob" question about the post from datonyb was, that i didn't recognize that "aerials" is another english word for antennas.
So installed the antennas and onboard BT works!

OceanBlue72, surprise to me, too. It does make sense since the BT and Wi-Fi are on the same card made by Intel. I thought 'aerials' might the problem. I look at it more in the sense of a long wire high in the air. Enjoy, John.
