" rel="nofollow - Hi, I just got a Fatal1ty X399 w/ AMD Threadripper 1950X and it wont post, it shows 54 in Dr Debug code.

So far I've tried:

- 2 x 16Gb, 2400 Mhz , C16 CMK16GX4M1A2400C16 Corsair

- 4 x 16 GB, 3600 MHz, C18 CMK64GX4M4B3600C18 Corsair

...also tried the above memories with just 1 stick (2400) and 2 and 1 stick (3600). I have not mixed them.

I've flashed both 2.0 bios and 1.8 bios using the USB and I get the same code. I've also reinstalled CPU.

Any ideas/help?

" rel="nofollow - Looks like a memory issue. Have you tried to clear CMOS? Maybe even try 2133?
http://www.asrock.com/support/faq.asp?id=334

I have the same board and 1950X. I'm using 4 x 16GB of this. So far I can reach 2933 with BIOS 2.0.

" rel="nofollow - Thanks. How do I clear CMOS? I've pressed the CMOS button both when then computer is not powered on (b/c PW connected to it) AND pressing it while booting, but I didn't get any feedback whether the CMOS memory clearing was actually successful.

I've reset the CMOS (PW supply off, turned on to exhaust remaining power... so no leds are on), then pressed the CMOS switch a few times.

After CMOS reset => Same issue: code 54.

" rel="nofollow - can we confirm some other common issues with new threadripper builds ?

THE MAKE AND MODEL OF POWER SUPPLY ?

and as has happened a few time  now
please check and recheck and to be honest triple check

the main 24 pin supply to board is fully seated home
the extra cpu 8 pin power supply
and the 4 pin cpu power supply
are all connected to the correct leads marked CPU/EPS

we have had a couple of guys use the graphics card power leads that are marked PCIE

most power supplies DO NOT have enough connectors for threadripper hence why i ask what exact model you have

Power supply is EVGA SuperNOVA 1200 P2 1200W.

I have just checked:

- Main 24-pin supply properly connected OK
- 4-pin CPU connected to 4-pin CPU on PS OK (PS has 2x 4+4 CPU ports, so this one takes 1x 4 CPU pin)
- 8-pin CPU connected to 8-pin CPU on PS OK (this one takes 1 4+4 CPU pin)
- I also tried connecting the extra PCIe pin on the PS (only needed according to documentation for 3+ PCIe devices). Didn't make a difference (I only have 1 x 1080 Ti connected right now).

Same issues after rechecking: code 54.

(btw, the I had the same PS working on a different computer so the PS should be OK).

" rel="nofollow - ok psu is a good one for sure (we have had people with quite undersized ones try tr )
and we have confirmed the cpu/eps board connectors are not getting pcie supplies (yes its happened here already twice)

you say you have tried ram tricks in regards of different sticks and different slots

have you tried the most bare and basic booting attempts

eg disconnected any and all hard drives dvds etc etc
to just rule out conflicts ?

and then your going to hate me but i suggest

removal and refitting of cpu

Uninstalled and refitted CPU. Same issue.

I've ordered memory explicitly listed in the QVL:  CMK64GX4M4B3333C16

Will report back once it arrives.
