I've been running a stable Ryzen 3 1200 and wanted to get something a little "peppier" so I picked up a Ryzen 7 1700. Ever since I switched the CPU though I've been getting the dreaded random lock up and freezes every 10-15 minutes. My system specs are:

The 2400 mhz GSkill Flare isn't the fastest but it should be compatible with the two processors, correct? Ram is in slots A2 & B2. I also tried dropping down to a single stick of RAM and tested them both but that didn't help at all. Also tried a temporary install of Windows 10 on a standard hard disk drive and that didn't fix it either.
Kind of hard to believe I'm having problems with a brands new CPU, but everything points to that. I'm not missing anything as far as my system compatibility am I? I did a full BIOS reset between the processor changes, but using the jumper on the MB and from with the BIOS. Also pulled the CPU and re-seated it just in case and that didn't change anything either. Thanks.
