" rel="nofollow - I have:
Fatal1ty X299 Professional Gaming i9 XE
i9-7900x
32 gb of memory
ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce GTX 1080TI OC Edition

My graphic card is very long and it is blocking USB3_5_6.  Can I install my graphic card on PCIE2?  Will it affect the performance?  If it does affect performance, what are my options?  Thanks for your help.

I've heard the performance difference is extremely minimal. Like 1%. And even then that might've been because they were testing a high end gpu like that in a 8x slot and your nice mobo like that would have two x16 slots. Current gen cards hardly max out on a pci gen 3 8x slots.

The largest difference would probably just be thermals IF it's like blowing hot air right against like a power supply shroud.

" rel="nofollow - Depending on your CPU (I don't know the specs of the i9-7900x), you might want to install it to PCIE3 instead. From your motherboard's manual:

4 x PCI Express 3.0 x16 Slots*
* If you install CPU with 44 lanes, PCIE1/PCIE2/PCIE3/PCIE5
will run at x16/x8/x16/x0 or x8/x8/x16/x8.
* If you install CPU with 28 lanes, PCIE1/PCIE2/PCIE3/PCIE5
will run at x16/x0/x8/x0 or x8/x0/x8/x8.
* If you install CPU with 16 lanes, PCIE1/PCIE2/PCIE3/PCIE5
will run at x16/x0/x0/x0 or x8/x0/x4/x0.
