" rel="nofollow - did you reset bios prior to update? In any case, try unplugging, removing CMOS battery for 10m, then reinsert + boot?

" rel="nofollow - mordelismo, what method did you use to update your BIOS?  If you did not use Instant Flash, you were inviting a BRICK.  I have no suggestions other than the CMOS reset and then talk to ASRock Technical Support for the two of you.  You may need to RMA you board.  Please let us hear what method you used and what ASRock has to say.  Sorry, but enjoy, John.

Please don't engage in victim-blaming. If methods other than IF aren't safe, ASRock shouldn't offer them. Easy as that.

Never assume vendors/manufacturers know what they are doing all the time.

I'm telling you this both from a personal experience, and from the point of common sense - if guys who lurk in this forum for quite some time are telling you something's bad, it most likely is. Then again, everyone has a head on their shoulders.

foppe, anyone that checked this forum concerning BIOS update will find that no one will speak positively of any method other than Instant Flash.  I agree with you and do not know why ASRock continues to provide update files for any method but Instant Flash.

So simple, please tell ASRock.  I hope you are aware almost all who post here including the Moderators are not employed by ASRock.  I am a user, not an employee.  Enjoy, John.
