" rel="nofollow - Anyone else notice in Windows task manager the CPU clockspeed does not stay constant at whatever you set even with variable options turned off?
I have my 1700 set to 3.85GHz and it varies up and down from 3.5ish to the set 3.85GHz. Same with the 1600 chip. There's no fixed clockspeed setting.

I have windows set to High Performance mode not balanced, and also in the BIOS have all states turned off.

Uhm, my 1700X stays on its fixed freqs when using just 1 P-state. I can't remember the results when using multiplier OC, though.

What are you using to check?
CPUZ and other utilities show constant clockspeed but not task manager.

its supposed to be an issue with windows reporting not with your hardware

I find that hard to believe.
What's your source?

That page, I think CPU options, with 3-4 options, I disabled the C-states, I think there's only 2 enabled.

CPU-Z version 1.83 is also now showing variable clockspeed due to the bus frequency changing ever so slightly up and down.

This is in High performance mode or the AMD balanced mode.

Previous versions of CPU-Z were fixed at whatever multiplier x bus of 99MHz.

I don't mind, but still curious about this.
