Hello all, this is my first post here on this forum, as well as this being my first asrock motherboard. My new system consists of a z370 Taichi, 8700k and 2 8gb sticks of corsair vengeance ddr4 3000 memory. My first boot up was successful and everything seemed to be working fine, boy what a beast this 8700k is even at stock clocks! Anyways, things started to go downhill once I started to overclock, specifically the memory. As a default it was running at 2133mhz and I decided to give the xmp profile a try but Unfortunately it would not boot with xmp enabled. I then tried 2800mhz, even that wouldn't boot! All the timings matched the factory corsair specs. So then I tried 2600mhz and finally I got it to boot. I decided to leave it there and then messed with CPU overclocking. I got it running at 4.8ghz but I was having weird crashes, all while giving the 8700k plenty of voltage. Not the normal bsod with a message screen though; it's more like a blue screen with white lines/dots going down it. I have never seen this screen before , and it has done it at least 3 or 4 times. Always the same screen. I have a bad feeling either the ram or motherboard is messed up... I have tried updating the bios to 1.4 and setting the ram timings manually but still no boot past 2666 or 2700 memory speed. I would try 1 stick instead of two but I have a dark rock pro 3 and it blocks all the ram slots . Also, as a side note. I'm having the same audio issue many people have complained about. It's a coil whine/screeching noise that is most noticeable with headphones. I can live with it
but just wanted to let people know I'm having issues with audio. I have built many computers and have never had any issues so it's been quite frustrating. Any tips or info/potential fixes would be greatly appreciated! Sorry for the super long post...

After trying to research the crash screen, many people are pointing towards gpu issues. I don't think it's an issue with my gpu though, as everyone seemed to have vertical lines on the screen and mine are a diagonal.
Here is a link to a picture I took of the crash screen. https://imgur.com/gallery/ADWQk This is the same screen everytime it has crashed.

I have another update to share... I decided to disable my 980ti in device manager to mostly remove the gpu from the equation. With the cpu at 4.8ghz and the ram at 2500mhz I fired up the usual aida64 stress test. I let it run for a few seconds and then tried to open up google chrome. not surprisingly it crashed; but this time it gave me an actual bsod with an error code "memory management" So Im 99% sure it isn't a gpu problem and must be a motherboard or ram issue.

" rel="nofollow - Geez after researching memory management bsod graphics card issues once again popped up. The crazy thing is that the card will game fine for hours on end. How would opening a game or google chrome tab while stress testing and getting crashes be caused by a faulty gpu, that still games fine? Hopefully someone has some ideas... I'm stumped
