Subject: Taichi 2x4-pin connectors in a 8-pin CPU pwr slot?

" rel="nofollow - I have a Z370 ASRock Taichi and bought a Seasonic FOCUS Plus 650W modular power supply to go with it (see here: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16817151186).

My question relates to the fact that the CPU power cable that came with the modular PSU only has two four pin power connectors but the Taichi has an 8-pin slot. After reading a few forums all I could find out was that plugging in a 4-pin connector to an 8-pin was safe, and the mobo manual tells you that much (it says to align the 4 pin connector on the side where pin 1 and 5 are) and it booted fine that way.

But what I had a hard time finding information on is whether I can plug the second 4 pin connector into the second half of the 8-pin slot on the mobo safely.

The Seasonic's two cables have the clip portion on opposite sides/edges of the connector, making it look like they could meet in the middle and both sort of half clip on, so it seems like it may be designed for that, but I want to be absolutely sure so that I don't damage the board. Can anyone verify if two 4-pin connectors can be plugged in to the 8-pin CPU power slot?

Thanks.

" rel="nofollow - UPDATE: I called Seasonic today and they said the design with the two 4-pins is how they make all their PSU CPU cables and that it should be fine to plug in the second 4-pin.

Does anyone else have experience doing this though?
