" rel="nofollow - Hello.
For the future:
Is it ok to use the Asrock windows flash updater (example v. 3.40) and replace file in ROM folder with newer instant flash file (example 4.50) and flash file with it?
(rename AB35PR44.50 -> ASRock.ROM)

I ask this because, Instant flash is not working with any of my usb sticks.

" rel="nofollow - I'm not sure if the installer runs a checksum of some kind on the file, but I wouldn't trust the Windows flashing method, personally, based on what I've read.

Do you have a USB problem at the port, or is it that your USB drives aren't working properly?

I check MD5 checksums of ASRock.ROM and AB35PR43.30 and they are the same.
( https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/AB350M%20Pro4/index.asp#BIOS" rel="nofollow - https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/AB350M%20Pro4/index.asp#BIOS
3.30 Instant Flash and Windows)
But you are right, there can be check for different version.

USB ports are working fine, but for some reason asrock cannot find flash files on sticks.(FAT32 format, unzipped files, on root)
I'll get a notification "no image file detected"

" rel="nofollow - Pedro, I do not know why ASRock continues to release Windows flash files.  Too many users have bricked their boards using it.  Please use Instant Flash.  We need to determine why your Instant Flash is failing.  I also suggest you not be renaming flash update files.  Please post a screenshot of your message when you fail.  How do you have your USB stick formatted and how large is it?  To post a screenshot from your BIOS/UEFI use F12 and have a FAT formatted USB stick plugged.  Enjoy, John.

EDIT:  When you copied the flash file to the USB stick, did you do a Safe Removal before removing the stick?  Can you try another system to write the USB stick?   Please check the Flash file hash codes on your HDD and on your USB stick after you copied it to the stick.  Please post it (them) here.

maybe u missing bridge bios

if u have bios below 3.4, u will need to flash 3.4 first then u can go higher
in uefi u cant use internet flash?
or flash from uefi shell? (google ami aptio V - AFU, downloadl and run from efi shell)
try to avoid flashing in windows as much as possible

Thank's Guys!

I asked the question for the future, because I have not had good luck with Instant Flash.

I am a successful updated with Windows flasher to 3.40 Bridge BIOS (lucky me) and once after that with Internet flasher to 4.30.
Instant Flash has never worked. Internet Flash that one time.
I have tried Verbatim 8Gb, Transcend 2Gb and SanDisk 2Gb sticks.
All formatted to Fat32, flash file unzipped to the root. Flash filename has not been edited.
Unzipped file checksum on ssd and the one on stick is same.

As I wrote, I asked the question for the future because I'm fine with 4.30 for now.
I do not use Windows Flasher then. I check that uefi shell.

Thanks for the screenshot, Pedro.  I think we need to get to the bottom of your Instant Flash problem.  Please post the hash codes for your file on the stick and a screenshot of the Explorer screen of the stick and the Properties of the file.  What BIOS/UEFI was installed on your system at the time of the screenshot you just posted and what file(s) were on the stick (please post file names).  Thanks and enjoy, John.

Thanks, Pedro.  Strictly speaking, you did not follow the instructions.  Both 4.30 and 4.50 say to flash to the bridge, 3.40 first.  It looks like you tried to flash from 4.30 to 4.50.  Not finding a valid flash file will report as "No image file detected".  I suspect 4.30 and 4.50 are requiring the existing BIOS/UEFI to be 3.40 before updating.  You can ask ASRock support if you like, but I think Instant Flash is the safest way to go unless you have a TR (X399) board. Thanks and enjoy, John.

I think it must mean to flash 3.40 before 4.30, not if you are already with 4.30.
Anyway, I bootted with 3.40 [AB35PR43.40] on the stick and tried to flash with it, "No image file detected"

" rel="nofollow - Hello,

Yeah MisterJ was completely wrong about that. 3.40 Bridge was just required in order to BRIDGE it to the Ryzen 2000 series. You flash 3.40 BRIDGE, and then you never flash it again. It was required before moving on to the new generation of Ryzen.

I too have the same issue as the OP. It is NOT the usb drives or anything else outside of the board, it is specifically this motherboard at fault. It always tells me "No image file detected" when I try to flash locally, no matter what USB flash drive I use or what format style we try, or what USB port is tried. FAT12, FAT16 FAT32, none of those matter and you can use a hundred different name brands, flash sizes etc (I've tried from 256mb, 4Gb, 16gb, 32gb and a 64GB flash drive, and using USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 and 6 different brand names Kingston, OCZ, Mushkin, ADATA, SanDisk, Samsung. I even tried using an old Sony flash drive that was specifically meant for flashing BIOS files), it just doesn't matter, I will always get the same exact message "No Image File Detected". If you try using the Internet Flash feature, it obviously connects to the Internet without issue but then tells you that there is no update found for your board, no matter what country you set it to, and even if you select Auto. This board refuses to see new bios files PERIOD. Mine came with FW 3.10 and can NOT be updated. I have 50 or 60 flash drives and SATA USB drives, etc and it just doesn't matter. After 31 years of working as a Computer Tech this has become the most difficult board I have ever seen with trying to update.

I am going to try flashing using the UEFI Shell and Aptio V AFU which is completely new territory for me (might as well learn something new). lol, if that does not work, then what other method besides Windows is there? Oh, and maybe it's the REV number? I have AB350M PRO4 REV 1.01. So maybe REV 1.01 is not flashable??? I am at a loss here.

By the way, I did not create a new thread because this thread is every bit the exact same issue. Thanks
