" rel="nofollow - I have a Z170 extreme7+ motherboard that I purchased a year or 2 ago. I just bought a samsung evo 960 NVMe M.2 SSD. Will the SSD work on this Motherboard? In looking at the SSD it has one notch in the edge connector. In the manual for the board it is showing M.2 boards where the edge connector has 2 notches. Am I screwed or with this work?

I didn't hear back from anybody so I went ahead and installed it. Much to my delight it works like a charm. I migrated the data over from my old sata connected SSD with the Samsung Data Migration program then I checked the read write performance with the Samsung Magician. It's reporting a 5x improvement in read performance and an 8x improvement in write performance. I'm happy, it just goes to show you that sometimes things do go right!Smile
