Hi Guys Smile
ASRock AB350 Pro 4, i had real issues trying to get (CMK16GX4M2B3000C15R) to run at 2666Mhz, it was doable but not stable during boot, it would often boot loop.

Tho i'm happy to report that after updating to BOIS 4.60 the system boots first time and is stable at 2933Mhz 16-17-17-17.

I'm happy but there are a couple of changes to this BIOS from the last.

It seems to ignore my inputting the mem volts from 1.35 to 1.4.
I set it, save it and the next time i'm in the BIOS its reset back to 1.35v.
In Ryzen Master that option is now greyed out, inaccessible, again that was not the case with the previous BIOS.

Mem timings, again it seems to ignore the first timing in put, if i set CL to 15 it ignores it and boots at CL16.

The reason i ask is i want to add just a few more volts to the mem's so i can try to tighten up the timings a little.

CPU is a Ryzen 5 1600 running stable and happy at 3.9Ghz @ 1.4 set in the BIOS.

PS: to ASRock, i'm impressed with the board, for the money its better than i thought it would be. :)

Well, by having it Enabled you are allowing the "bios' to choose the settings.

Hint: Disable it Tongue

" rel="nofollow - can you share how you OC your RAM in the BIOS

thats my experience with the PRO4 and LPX RAM. I had been able to pull 3,066Mhz since Bios 3.3 and see some potantial with latest BIOS as you are also confirming

are you using AMD CBS and UMC Options to set your Ram OC at all?

" rel="nofollow - I'm assuming Disabled nets you what you are expecting?

Bud. I have literally literally days spent tweaking my system to run 3333. No joke. Days.

I preach every system is different. Which they are.

cl15 will work if u disable gear down mode
1.35v+ will not work with latest agesa, its broken

to repeat above
geardown mode will disable 'odd' cl latencies and choose the next even number higher

eg cl15 goes to cl16
cl17 goes to cl 18 etc

@nolive721, i'm using the ASRock system settings.

Boot training is disabled.

I'm beginning to think this board has a mind of its own.

When i disable gear down mode and save it puts its self back into Auto mode, just like the mem volts settings it will not keep the settings i input, its like i tell it to go right and all this board wants and will do is go left.

Does anyone with the same board and BIOS have any success with this ^^^

AB350 Pro 4
BIOS 4.60

And it does that by design.

My guess? As it Resets that tells me you have an OC setting that is way WAY not gonna work.

Otherwise it won't Reset.

I suggest you do a Battery Out BIOS Clear and begin anew.

You are right, i did a battery reset and this time it boot looped before starting.

I think it doesn't like the CL15 timings and they don't make it past the first boot check.

Never mind, for the money i'm happy with it. :)

Its running nice and stable at 3.925Ghz - 2933Mhz CL16-17-17-17

The performance is very good, the chip even with the overclock runs unbelievably cool and its very stable in this nice board.

Thanks for your help guys.

Here I too forget what I've changed in the BIOS and experience exactly what you did.

I've learned not to bang my head fighting it and simply do a battery out clear.

Good, so it's running to your liking now. For a Ryzen anyways Wink
