" rel="nofollow - Hello, everyone,

I am almost giving up on putting together a new gaming rig...

Case: NZXT Phantom 820
Motherboard: ASRock Fatal1ty Z270 Gaming K6
Processor: i5-8600K
VGA: ASUS GTX1070TI
RAM: 4x 8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 2400MHz
Cooling: LEPA Aqua Changer 240
PSU: Corsair RM650x
HDD: 500 GB Samsung + 128GB SSD by Corsair

First problem I have encountered: there are so many fan connectors on the NZXT case, and they are all 3-pin. But the ends are not the one's you'd connect to a motherboard, but vice-versa - they seem to be open for connecting additional fans.

Main problem: upon turning on the PSU, the MB Aura LED's light up in light-violet color, then change to red, blink 3 times and then keep flashing slowly (pulsating). Nothing else happens. No beep, no post, no video signal, no Dr. Debug codes, no feed to HDD. Nothing. Just pulsating light.

So far I have tried:

  • Removing VGA card and connecting HDMI monitor straight to motherboard
  • Removing two RAM modules, then 3, then all of them (at least to get an error, a beep, whatever)
  • Switching PSU
  • Checking all connections from PSU
  • Removing battery
  • Reseting CMOS
  • Pressing the power and/or reset buttons on the motherboard
Nothing seems to work. Nothing happens, period. Any suggestions? I am starting to think I got a faulty MB?

" rel="nofollow - Uhm are u really Sure that u sre using a Z270 with an i5-8600k?
Despite having the same socket 1151 the i5-8600k only and exclusively runs on Z370 boards, because intel changed the pin layout you need a Z370 mainboard. On Z270 only 7th generation or older work.
and your mainboard showing nothing no POST no video signal is due to the lack of a working CPU

" rel="nofollow - Jesus Christ... Somehow I have not encountered that information... Thanks for the heads-up. Will return the Z270 and get Z370 then. Anything specific you'd recommend by looking at my setup?

Lolz, woops! It happens, Intel really dropped the ball with making the 8th gen stuff exclusive to the Z370 boards. I've got the Z370 version of the Fatal1ty K6 board, I like it.

As for your case fans, the 820 manual states those male ends are supposed to plug into the included fan controller.
