Hey there,

So I'm just building my first PC and ran into my first major issue.
Here are my parts:

CPU AMD - Ryzen 5 1600 3.2GHz 6-Core Processor

CPU Cooler  Stock

Motherboard  ASRock - AB350M Pro4 Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard

RAM G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory

Storage SSD  Samsung - 850 EVO-Series 500GB 2.5" Solid State Drive

Storage HDD Western Digital - Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal HDD

Video Card Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1060 G1 Gaming 6GB

PSU Corsair - Vengeance 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply

Extra: LG gh24ns95 DVDRAM

Recom cardreader

The red and yellow plugs (usb headers, system panel headers etc) are blocking my GPU from going into the green slot, as the plugs extend too far outwards and leave no space for the GPU. I have absolutely now idea how this board was designed to work. So if any of you have an idea on what I can do to fix this issue, I'd love to hear it because this is annoying me.

LMK if you need any more info or pics/whatever.

Thanks in advance,

Bart.

Hello, that is wrong pcie slot for gpu. Your gpu should go in upper slot (PCIE2).

I did.  From page 26 of the Quick Installation Guide:

PCIe slots:
PCIE1 (PCIe 2.0 x1 slot) is used for PCI Express x1 lane width cards.
PCIE2 (PCIe 3.0 x16 slot) is used for PCI Express x16 lane width graphics cards.*
PCIE3 (PCIe 2.0 x16 slot) is used for PCI Express x4 (AB350M Pro4) / x2 (A320M Pro4) lane width graphics cards.
* PCIE2 will downgrade to x8 mode when A-Series APU is installed.

I think you want the PCIe 3.0 x16 slot.

The GPU belongs in the slot on the MB titled PCIE2, the slot above the CMOS battery.

Motherboards have strict guidelines they must adhere so this issue does not happen when cards are placed in the "correct' slots.

Using this old post to ask about another issue with fitting a GPU.

I got an AB350m pro4 and an ASUS RX 570 I tired to install (to the upper slot) but the topmost SATA port is too high for the card to slot properly.

Is there a way to remove the sata connector plastic part safely (the lower one would be enough for me)? Is it known that this mobo is not compatible with rx 570?
