" rel="nofollow - Hi again all

Had my ryzen build working like a charm since last october. Only just noticed when recently updating chipset drivers that there's an intel pci bus driver installed in system devices. As i say everything is sweet but is this normal or should i use standard microsoft pci driver?
It must have been installed since doing a clean install.

" rel="nofollow - Can you be more specific? I have 25 PCI and PCI Express-related devices listed under System Devices. I've checked at least one of each of the types and they are all using Microsoft drivers dated 21/06/2006. I suspect any discrepancies are due to you running Windows 7, which isn't officially supported by either AMD or ASRock, while I'm running Windows 10. If it works though, it's probably fine.

Hi JohnM

It's the PCI Bus driver in System Devices in windows device manager.
When i look in the driver details option in properties, there's an iusb3hcs.sys file installed and being used. Which is an intel driver, I think it's for usb3.

It must be a Windows 7 thing because in Windows 10 I don't have a System Device called "PCI Bus". I have the following:

  - PCI Express Downstream Switch Port (6 off)
  - PCI Express Root Complex (1 off)
  - PCI Express Root Port (5 off)
  - PCI Express Upstream Switch Port (1 off)
  - PCI standard host CPU bridge (11 off)
  - PCI standard ISA bridge (1 off)

and they all have Microsoft drivers. I don't know how your device relates to any of mine but it seems Windows 7 found a match for it. If it's working then it probably doesn't matter.

No reason for an Intel driver unless you moved this HDD from an Intel sys to this AMD sys.

" rel="nofollow - I've powered up my old ITX box. It has an ASRock AM1B-ITX motherboard, an AMD Athlon 5350 APU and it runs Windows 7 Pro 64-bit (which keeps it relevant to this board, topic and thread).

Under System Devices I see one entitled "PCI Bus". Its driver details are as follows:
  Driver Provider: Microsoft
  Driver Date: 21/06/2006
  Driver Version: 6.1.7601.17514

So, confirmed it isn't an Intel driver, but neither is it an AMD one. Do you have the option to roll back your driver? Or maybe uninstall it and let Windows re-install it? Is there anything else you'd like me to check?

Under Driver Details there's only one file listed:
  C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\pci.sys

  Provider: Microsoft Corporation
  File Version: 6.1.7600.16385 (win7_rtm.090713-1255)
