I have an X99 Extreme 6 - currently using the 3.20 BIOS from 2016.

I see BIOS update 3.40 was released a few days ago.

Is this just to address the Spectre/Meltdown thing?

Does it make any other improvements?

I'm pretty happy with 3.20, but I don't really know that much about the Spectre/Meltdown situation.

Do I really need this update?
