I am looking for the fastest, most stable 16GB RAM that I can get for gaming/future-proofing. I added significant cooling to the build in order to tamper with overclocking down the road. Scythe |

Much posted will prove anecdotal, as from system to system you'd discover nuances that can make a lot of difference. Wish I could have done better yet there isn't really a "better' to do. |

I think that I am narrowing it down to RGB Trident sticks, either 3200 or 3600. Something tells me not to bother with anything faster. I like the look of the Dominator Platinum, however. They are high-performance with lightbars, or adding the Dominator RGB fan. I found some inexpensive RGB heat spreader kits, so if there are "no-frills," high performance Samsung B-die sticks out there, I can add those kits. I want to game as fast as possible for a long time (my wife agreed to an expensive machine if I get YEARS out of it.) However, I bought a Thermaltake View 71, so I am going crazy with the RGB. |

I'm currently running G.Skill Flare X F4-3200C14D-16GFX at 3466 MHz and 16-16-16-32 timings on a Taichi with a 1700 @ 3.8 GHz without issues. Prior to the Flare X kit I had G.Skill Trident Z F4-3200C16D-16GTZSW which has the Hynix chips and I could never get it to run higher than 2966 MHz. |

I am using the G Skill Trident Z F4-3600C16Q-32GTZR and am happy with them. This is a quad group with RGB but you can get the same in the Dual group. The number is F4-3600C16D-16GTZR. Currently running at 3333 with no issues. Just have not had time to increase the speed on the RAM. There are many memory units that are compatible with this board. I chose G Skill because I had them in my last build and over the last 25 years or so, I developed a great trust in G Skill memory. I have tried Corsair, Crucial, Patriot, Dell, G Skill, Muskin, Micron, etc, etc, etc... ,and a host of others that have claimed to be "the best OC memory and the best stable memory on the planet". For me, G Skill is the only one that fits that statement. Right now, it is who ever has the Samsung B Chips that seem to work best with the Ryzen and Asrock boards. There are many memory manufacturers that use these chips, so it is just preference to the builder and right now, I trust G Skill memory more than anyone else. But there are others that will stand behind their memory just as strongly and they work just as good. Whatever you choose, make sure that it is solid memory and make sure you know the chip manufacturer and what the series is. Also single file single rank seems to work very well. I am further narrowing it down. I am going RGB with the system for a cyberpunk look (I have been interested in the genre for many years.) Right now, I am looking at G.Skill TridentZ F4-3200C14D-16GTZRX. 3200 seems like the safest bet, though I wish I could go faster. |
