" rel="nofollow - This is my first PC build in over 10 years but the need to game is too much :)
I've got a Fatal1ty X370 Gaming X board with a Ryzen 5 1600 CPU and 2 x G.Skill Flare X (F4-2400C15D-16GFX)
They're all supposed to play nice but I'm getting an error 46 on the boards debug panel, regardless of whether I have the memory in or out?
Ideas?

Problem related to memory. Please re-install the CPU and memory then clear CMOS. If the problem still exists, please install only one memory module or try using other memory modules.
Also make sure RAM seats properly (clicks on both sides)

Thanks. Yes one of the memory sticks was dead.
Clearing the CMOS for other newbies...
1. Unplug power
2. Remove battery from motherboard
3. Change the CMOS jumper on the motherboard
4. Hold power button down for 15 sec
5. Wait for 15min to allow all power to discharge
6. Put the battery back in
7. Change the jumper back to it's original position
8. Power up
