" rel="nofollow - I have the X399 Taichi with an NZXT X62 AIO liquid cooler.  The fan connector for the cooler is three pin.

On the motherboard, I have CPU_FAN1 or CPU_OPT_W_PUMP headers (both 4-pin).

Currently, I've connected the fans to the first three pins of the CPU_OPT_W_PUMP header.  Is that the thing to do here?  Since my AIO fans don't use the 4th control pin, is there any advantage in using this header over CPU_FAN1?

In the BIOS, I changed the setting for that header from CPU_OPT to W_PUMP and I heard a speed difference in the fans, but no noticeable difference otherwise.

I feel weird not using that CPU_FAN1 header and I'm second guessing myself.  Does it even matter?

Thanks.

I'm using the same header for my enermax cooler.. (which I'd recommend over the nzxt , though if your temps are good.. rock on good sir, rock on).

that 4th pin is for pwm signal, if ure on 3pin, then u can use only DC mode
