" rel="nofollow - First, I HAVE MODIFIED MY ISO using the ASRock Win 7 USB Patcher utility, to include the USB drivers on my installer thumb drive. Installation goes just fine.

When I'm in the BIOS, USB keyboard and mouse work. When I'm in the Windows 7 Installer, keyboard and mouse work. When the installer is done and it reboots, as soon as it gets to the user account setup page, no keyboard or mouse.

I've tried every combination of the Legacy USB settings in the BIOS but nothing works.

What can I do here to get Win7 installed?

Ok. The USB mouse and keyboard should always work in the BIOS.  Problem is once loading a OS the BIOS hands off contol to the OS and if the proper drivers are not there they will not work. When you run the patcher you must patch both the BOOT WIM and the Install WIM. Sounds like BOOT WIM was patched but not the Install WIM. I have not used Asrocks patcher but have patched Win 7 ISO and know this is a common problem. Try patching again OR use a PS2 keyboard to TAb/ALT-Tab around and load the USB driver off a CD once WIn 7 is installed. You could also try a differant patcher! I used the one from Intel and an app called DISM GUI, see below:

Get this package: Windows 7 USB 3.0 Creator Utility
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25476" rel="nofollow - https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25476
This includes the PDF which has the Instructions, we will use DISM GUI.

Get DISM GUI 4.0 executable:

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks. So I tried using the intel tools and DISM GUI and all went as the instructions said they would, but after install, I'm still in the same boat with no USB. No idea what the problem is.

Using a PS/2 keyboard I'm able to get past the account setup screen and into the newly installed OS, but the problem remains that I don't have USB at all. Since this machine doesn't have an optical drive (I guess I could buy one just to do this), I can't think of a way to get the USB drivers onto the system.

I guess I could copy them to an internal drive and plug that into a SATA connection. Sheesh.
