Hi,
I have a weird problem with the above motherboards, A1 and B1 slots work flawlessly, expo included.
However, the recommended by the motherboards slots A2 and B2 do not work, I tried single slot and loosened the cooler mounting pressure but nothing. I get the code EC after code 15. The cpu is the 9800X3D. I also tried 2 different ram kits, Gskill flaire x5 6000hz cl30 and corsair vengeance 6000hz cl30, with the same result.
Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry to say it but the odds of 2 boards having the same exact issue are slim to none. I am guessing you are using the same CPU to test both by the phrasing of your post, that would likely be the culprit, that or the RAM is picky for some reason.
Before I cause a panic though, make sure you are identifying the slots correctly. A2 and B2 should be the second and 4th slots counting from the CPU outward.
Out of curiosity, if you populate slots (A1+A2) or (B1+B2) is all the RAM seen? Even if it is however, I would recommend RMAing the CPU if you are sure you are having an issue with slots A2 and B2.

Thank you for your reply.
I suspected the cpu as well, its the 9800X3D which is in short supply right now.
I checked A1 and B1 and the the ram are visible but are running at 3600hz and not 4800 which is the default not sure if it is because they are not in dual channel. I checked the cpu underneath but I did not see anything unusual.
I am 100% sure that I have issues with A2 and B2 slots, however I saw other posts here with Asrock motherboards having issues with ram slots so I am not sure what is causing the problem.

As far as I am aware the only "issue" has been with cooler mounting pressure which sadly has been a problem on a lot of LGA CPUs since Skylake (for intel) when they made the substrate (the green PCB) thinner to "improve efficiency" (save cost). The thin PCB will tend to flex under pressure so if the mounting pressure is uneven then you end up with corners lifting off their contacts etc.
An easy way to test for this is to lay the PC on it's side and simply rest the cooler on top of the CPU with some thermal compound. If you are still having issues then it isn't mounting pressure. Also check the CPU itself, make sure the PCB is not warped/bent in any way. The slightest warp can cause issues.
Good luck

Hi,
The problem is solved, the issue was not related to the motherboards, actually the motherboards are quite good, both of them.
This thread can close.
Thank you.
