Again, as seen with the Asrock j4205, there are HDMI issues with this motherboard. I bought this motherboard with the reason that I wanted it to use for HTPC. The Asrock j5005 is connected with an certified hdmi cable (supports 18 Gbps) to an LG oled b6v 4k TV. When I boot the machine I have no screen input, first thing i get to see on my TV is the windows login screen. This means I need to install the asrock j5005 with an VGA monitor.. Then sometimes when I booted up my machine I get flikkering screen, reboot is then needed to correct. Also, when I reboot the machine the whole screen turns green. Furthermore: I cannot adjust brightness at all, not with the windows wizard, not with the intel wizard. When I adjust the brightness to darker it turns purple, when I adjust the brightness to brighter it turns green. Very dissapointed that once again the HDMI issues are NOT solved. Fix this Asrock! Please for once |

It is not the motherboards fault that the HDMI output does not work proper with your TV during BIOS or OS installation when connected to a computer. Unless your TV actually supports being used as a Computer Monitor then you still need a regular monitor to set things up on the computer. In the manual for LG OLED B6 it shows (on page 4) hooking up a Laptop to HDMI. | You can resolve the issue on J4205 by installing BIOS 1.30A but there is no solution for J5005, yet. |

Hi guys, I'm also having problems with HDMI output on J5005-ITX. It works normally in BIOS and in text mode, but when it is switched to 1920x1080 there is no signal, although TV it is normally detected by OS. (I can connect to graphical remote desktop and see the picture there) When I disconnect HDMI cable from TV and plug it back, picture is restored. |

The n3700-itx was HDMI 1.x native only from Intel. All the newer boards use a LSPCON to convert DP 1.2 to HDMI 2.0. This chip has it's own firmware (and bugs). Intel is such a poor company to not implement native HDMI 2.x (even 8th gen). It's the reason why I switched to Ryzen 2x00G, native DP 1.4 and HDMI 2... no more problems. ------------- http://cellarcinema.info |

I purchased a J5005-ITX motherboard in November of 2018. For what it's worth, I didn't experience any problems with the HDMI port and my LCD TV monitor. I never had to use the VGA port to setup the board or the OS. The problem I did experience with the J5005-ITX was with memory compatibility. I discovered Corsair memory did not work with the J5005-ITX while G.Skill memory did. There are posts on this forum documenting the problem with memory compatibility. I also own a J4205-ITX and, for over a year, or was it two years, I had problems with the HDMI port working with my LCD TV monitor, which I documented on this forum in detail. Thankfully the problem was finally resolved with the most recent BIOS update for the board. |
