Hello,

I've got a GENOAD8X-2T/BCM motherboard with an EPYC 9355P CPU. I'm trying to update the bios firmware to a beta 10.04 provided by ASRock support for the Turin series CPU.

The BCM firmware was successfully updated via IPMI WebUI, but the bios flash continuously fails.

I followed the guide for updating bios on a AST2600 BCM.

Any advice here, I'm going to try updating from USB but I'm pessimistic since the bios version currently reads blank. I doubt the machine will even post or be able to open a utility that will use the usb port unless it's addressed directly by the BCM.

Any help is appreciated. I've got the motherboard on my desk right now with a power supply 24 pin cable connected. The BCM heartbeat is blinking which seems ok.

There are no storage drives connected, but the CPU is seated with a cooler and fan connected to FAN1, and have the ram installed as well.

Thanks for the input,

I was under the impression that unless you actually had *a* bios, and a recognized CPU, that anything requiring boot up would not be viable. The bios update is required to recognize the Turin series CPU's, so firmware update via BMC was my only option other than pulling the bios chip itself and directly flashing it with an adapter.

Ill give it a shot, but at this point i'm waiting on a reply from Asrock as well as concocting a hail-mary curl command to send the bios to the mobo via IPMI over lan.

Problem i'm facing now is that redfish is returning a "critical" error, it doesn't seem to be running.

I might swap out power supplies later this afternoon if still no success.

Hi I have the same board, did you manage to get the board flashed or was it bricked ? Seems Asrock is not really helping its users, for a year there has not been a serious biosupdate, the one you tried to flash seems very experimental.
Hope you could fix it.
