Hi all, I just bought this mother board EPC602D8A to build a budget workstation, and i have few things that I am not sure about (first time with ASROCK mother board). Before I go to describe my problem, I will list my system here first:

mother board: EPC602D8A
CPU: Xeon E5-2690 V2
Ram: ECC DDR3
Graphic: Quadro 4000

- the first problem is that the when I turn on the board, I have to wait few (10-20) seconds to have the screen display ASROCK bios on monitor through display port on the graphic card.
- the second problem is that the LED next to the second from bottom PCIe x8 slot keep blinking. I tried to read in the manual but it does not mention about that LED.

Thanks

Long BIOS boot times usually are caused by slow spin-up of the harddrives and add-on device BIOS's.
If you do not need the Marvel SATA I suggest disabling them in BIOS, see page 83 of the manual. Disable both items related to the Marvel controller. Also if you do not need to boot from LAN you should disable those as well, see page 92 and disable both boot from LAN.

" rel="nofollow - Thanks Badbri for rep,

I might not make clear myself. let me explain it again.

the long boot time due to starting machine (not boot into window because I am using SSD). Also the "ASROCK" logo appears twice, so its likely that the BIOS boot twice. it might relate to SATA I and other controller that i have not disable yet.

about the manual which manual are you referring to? I have read the manual comes with the board and it only has 74 pages. the online version slightly different but it stops at 75.

Thanks

" rel="nofollow - Sorry about the page numbers, I downloaded a differant EPC602 manual. Got the right one now, page numbers to 75.
The SATA configuration is section 3.4.11 page 56. The Boot is section 3.7 page 66.
If the board is booting twice then perhaps it is the onboard video being enabled or could be the ram. Which slots do you have ram in ?

" rel="nofollow - Thanks Badbri,

I was able to eliminate second ASROCK bios logo. I need to turn of some sata/raid that i dont need to use so it could skip booting from these sata port.

However, the first time boot is quite long. I takes few second to boot into ASROCK's BIOS logo. Is it normal?

Thanks

" rel="nofollow - Hello, I have a EPC2C602-4l D6 and I have a similar "issue":

The time to boot is about 2-3 min. The logo screen appears 4 times and the 5 time you can go inside the Bios... I have tried change any option in the bios in order to quit check/test options in the boot but It looks like I am leaving something without touch...

Somebody knows how I can get a fast boot (5-10seg)?
I assume that is a dumb option to change but I don't find it...

Thanks you, best regards.

hi H110,

the multiple boot screen might coming from BIOS checking for boot drive. so in my case, I do not use RAID, i turn off most of SATA (disable it). the problem of multiple boot screen is gone.

" rel="nofollow - Thanks you for the answer,
I have tried disable any boot option but the 4 times "booting" are yet...

I have seen now that the BMC version in the main screen is in empty, The first time I tried boot I want remember that I see 0.18 version but now is empty... maybe the bios is lighty corrupted?

I will try flash bios 1.8 and BMC .18, restore all as default and see what happen...
