" rel="nofollow - I have 2 GTX 1080's in PCI-E slots 1&4, an m.2 ultra SSD in the m.2 ultra slot, and another m.2 SSD in a PCI-E adapter in slot 5. My CPU supports 40 lanes, yet one of my GPUs is at 8x. Being in slots 1&4 should have them both at x16. Both m.2s are running at full x4 speeds. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Dear Broncoman79,

Thank you for choosing ASRock.

Regarding your case, because your M.2 SSD is connected at PCIE5 slot, the PCIE lanes will be shared.

Please connect the M.2 at PCIE3 slot, than the graphic cards will work at x16 and M.2 will work at x4 speeds.

X99 OC Formula/3.1 has 5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 Slots (PCIE1/PCIE2/PCIE3/PCIE4/PCIE5: single at x16 (PCIE1); dual at x16 (PCIE1) / x16 (PCIE4); triple at x8 (PCIE1) / x8 (PCIE2) / x16 (PCIE4); quad at x8 (PCIE1) / x8 (PCIE2) / x8 (PCIE4) / x8 (PCIE5))

Thank you!

Yours truly,

ASRock TSD
