" rel="nofollow - I'm currently using an EK DCC PWM enabled pump for my custom loop.  This pump has two different plugs coming off of it, the main power comes from a 4 pin molex with a second set of wires going to a 4 pin PWM header (only the RPM monitor and speed control cables there). I've used this header with an AIO pump, no problems as I just ran that pump at 100% per its design.  However, this EK pump is running at 4500RPM, it's currently the loudest thing in my case (which is actually really quiet still), but that kind of RPM generates more heat than I'd like on the motor.

I've tried a number of things, I just can't get this header to change the speed.  has anyone else run into this problem?  Anyone else even using the EK DCC pump (PWM)?

" rel="nofollow - What settings have you tried in the BIOS  for the CPU_OPT / W_PUMP header?

Both DC and PWM, from fan to pump, and set a custom curve with rpm percentages for the curve linked to the CPU. deliberately setting it lower than current temps to try and watch the change in RPM, no change. I guess my next option is to try the CPU Fan 1 header.

" rel="nofollow - Setting it to DC obviously won't have any affect as the pump is not getting its power from the header.

When you tried changing the fan speed based on temperatures, did you also make sure that the FAN Temp Source was set to Monitor CPU and not Monitor MB?

Do you have a PWM fan sitting around that you can plug into the header and test to make sure it changes speed when you change settings in BIOS?

I like the way you think, I do have a fan I can toss in to test.  I also had it set to monitor the CPU and not motherboard.

are using cpu_opt/w_pump header?
tho u can try cha_fan3/w_pump header, see if that works

BIOS version 4.4

I was using the CPU_OPT/W_PUMP header, I switched the cable to the CPUFANIN header and it worked like a charm.  Custom rpm curve and it's running silent!
