I started my build today with the Fatal1ty Z370 Gaming K6.

It seems the motherboard will not accept a NGFF 2230 Wifi/BT Module in the Key-E Slot as expected. The slot should accommodate 22mm x 30mm chips. There seems to be a component blocking the area the chip would occupy. Pictures included.

This is extremely problematic. Need a solution here ASRock. Manufacturing error?

" rel="nofollow - You got anything for me ASRock? @ASRock_Official ? @ASRock_TSD ?

This issue renders the entire M2 slot utterly useless.

" rel="nofollow - Can you measure the card ? the width should be 22mm to be in spec, with a max of 25mm. I have an old 2230 wifi that is near 28mm width (from an old Dell) and will not fit most 2230 m2 just like yours does not fit due to parts in the way.

" rel="nofollow - This card is within spec. Sadly I?™m going to have to take this board back. It?™s silly that the slot wouldn?™t have an extra mm or two of clearance. Especially for a type E M2 where the cards vary. If for nothing else other than heat dissipation.

ASRock, if this is an intended, then you should seriously be talking owners that the tolerance for 2230 cards is extremely low. A warning would have gone a long way.

Additionally, that little box (transistor/capacitor) also makes it tough to plug in the 8-pin power cable as well.

This is a severe disappointment ASRock.

"Especially for a type E M2 where the cards vary." No they should not vary except from OEM's. All retail parts must conform to the spec. You did not give me the actual width but I bet it is wider than 22mm. Checking the part numbers you did not black-out confirms it is a Dell part, just as the one I have which is near 28mm wide and NOT in spec for a 22mmx30mm M.2 E card.
