Has anyone successfully installed an AMD Vega 64 on a Asrock Z77 MB, specifically the Powercolor Red Devil Vega 64 as I've just bought one and it refuses to post, giving the b2 error. I have a Z77 extreme 9 and I tried all the PCIE slots and the 3 different bioses on the VGA card but it's not happy. Flashed the new beta 2 bios for the MB and all that did was rob me of NVME boot capability.

I've read a few forum posts where people have issues with ASrock boards and the b2 error so was wondering if someone had success with a particular vega graphics card and I'll look out for that one as I cant keep sending these things back to Amazon.

Unfortunately Powercolor Tech support either don't exist or aren't as slick as Asrock in coming back with responses so had no choice but to RMA it, every other VGA card I've ever put in this MD has booted fine, and that's quite a few.

Did try it in another PC but I didn't buy it for that one, compatibility can be so hit and miss.

" rel="nofollow - What exact CPU and what power supply do you have ?
Getting a new late 2017 video card to work well in a system from 2012 is difficult.

HI,

I'm not really trying to trouble shoot my system, I have a 3770K and an Antec 1200w PSU which happily powers 2 290x in crossfire or my 2 780GTX in SLI.
It also happily runs a 1080GTX but I wanted to try a Vega just to see how it ran.

Like I said it does seem Asrock MB's do have issues with certain VGA cards as there are numerous posts on the b2 debug code and they always refer back to the graphics manufacturer needing to update their bios, which I suspect is probably correct. Powercolor in my particular case never replied to my tech request and the card has now gone back. I'll have to get work to buy another variant and I'll borrow it for evaluation. I see no need to change my MB as it runs perfectly fine and until Intel bring out a CPU with all the bugs sorted I'll sit tight.
