Hi guys,
Short story = I noticed taichi x370 uefi found a set of timings different from ryzen_ram_calculator, So I tried it with instant success, post, windows, gaming, cold boot, hot boot. Always OK, no more intermittant sometimes work or not.
Long story start After update bios to 4.7, for sure going to TRY overclocking the ram, first step check to see if 4.7 can jump from 2933mhz to 3066mhz easily. Answer is no.
Luckily there's a ball-park-parameters from previous intermittent success (always lasted short few days). This allows the BIOS to fail, retry, train, fail, retry, train, etc etc etc. The usual 3 tries training set in uefi. Finally it post success at 3066, only after one session of failure (containing 3 training) but then windows still failed. Next reboot fail F9, b2, 55, whatever. And more reboot plus training etc.
While going into UEFI setup running at 3066, I notice my parameters are gone. On the timings left column appears groups/combinations of parameters/numbers which I have not seen before. They are not ryzen_ram_calculator values in my settings and not the 2133Mhz default jedec spec.
So I quickly write them down, and input them, with correction to tRFC, tRFC2, tRFC4, because it didn't train, it was stuck at tRFC=312 for the 2133mhz. So I replace them using values of the ryzen_ram_calculator, see picture: -
Summary, I think in order to get taichi's self training values/number/parameters, first we need a ball-park parameters that would both post and fail, exchanging blows every now and then..........
Report end. Welcome to feedback.
I tried to get these so called taichi self trained values on 3200mhz, but haven't seen, even though my current 3200mhz timing are touch and go. i.e. post mostly but windows fail.
Oh, btw, the original CAD_BUS Block ohms are 24,24,24,24 but didn't post for 3200mhz, then tried 20,20,20,20 also didn't post, but 30,30,30,30 post nearly always ok, just windows fail always. Still looking for the stable always ok setup for 3200mhz.
