" rel="nofollow - Hello There,

So I have an X470 Taichi and a Ryzen 2700X CPU. My Fan is a Cryorig C1

The temps in BIOS and software are confusing. Btw I have tried all 3 BIOS versions currently available for the Taichi and get the same temp readout.

-Inside BIOS my temp is 62 C with normal fan curve.

-When running Ryzen Master, idle temp is 50, max load goes above 80

-HWMonitor idle temp is 50 C

-HWInfo Idle Temp for CPU Tctl is 50, idle for CPU Tdie is 40

So what is the right temp? Is Ryzen right? Is the Tdie temp from HWInfo right?

And why is my BIOS idle temp so high?

Your reply does not make sense to me. My original post is about temperature, not power management.

ok lets explain

windows reduces volts on the cpu when not fully stressed

bios does not

so the cpu is running at higher volts

volts makes heat

you asked why bios heat high and i gave you the answer

" rel="nofollow - I also asked what is the correct temp between Ryzen Master, Tctl and Tdie temps. Seems like Ryzen CPU is still using some sort of offset.

This is true?

Also 60 degrees in BIOS seems very very hot. My other Ryzen CPUs did not run so hot in X370.

In X370, my old CPU ran 45 C in BIOS, and Ryzen Master matched the temp in both BIOS and HWinfo.

Things seem wrong with X470 Taichi compared to last gen.

based on experience from putting my hand on top of my case Tdie is the correct temps

most of the apps i have for monitoring uses Tctl which is usually 15C higher in my case and i dont bother with temps anymore let it manage itself.

on the side note my auto default has a crazy high vcore and i've been gradually undervolting since overclocking it quite boring nowadays

I see in your signature that you do water cooling. What are your idle and load temps like.

Also, do you overclock your RAM at all? I have the same Ram kit as you do.

currently its around 45C idle and 70-79C in hongkong's hot summer which is fairly high but it doesn't seem to be warm based on the hand over case test

this is coming from a 1055T @ 4ghz 44C max load which seems hotter

i've yet to successfully boot the system over 3200 and the correct term of overclocking my ram is very impossible since overclocking means running the ram over 4000mhz :P

what settings are you using right now i'd personally want to run them at 3600 but i've cant seem to find the right settings for 3466

I have the same cpu and board, and my temps more or less the same as you.

Inside BIOS is 65, with wraith prims cooler, really high for BIOS but i think is tcrl temperature, no tdie, what is the real temp.

So Hw info give me 40.4 in Tcrl and 30 in Tdie in idle. Tdie is the real temp.
