Subject: Help AB350M-HDV + 2400G

I bought a Ryzen 5 2400G and an ASRock AB350M-HDV board. However I haven't been able to make it stable. Crashes, BSOD's. It is stable enough to install Windows 10, etc. Sometimes installing chipset driver alone crashed and restarted the system. I ran memtest with OC profile 2400 using a G Skill Aegis 2400 and i saw errors. I reverted to 2133 and the errors are gone.

I'm really frustrated right now. And could use assistance. I did so many install , Windows and driver variations. Tried some things people suggested over the net, etc. But no luck. I am unable to run any benchmarks as they all crashes even before i could start.

Please any information would be greatly appreciated.

Specs:
boot drive = Western Green 120gb M.2 2280
Storage = Seagate 1 TB
PSU = Seasonic S12 520w
HSF = Deepcool Gammaxx 400

...which means that XMP profile isnt compatible with your board
a quick look told me that most of intel boards are compatible while there are 0 (zero) tested AMD boards

your ram is 2133mhz
that 2400MHz (advertised speed) is overclock for few specific boards (tested boards can be seen on g.skill web page under qvl)
XMP profile (intel eXtreme memory profile) have predefined timings which are working on those boards

so if that XMP profile doesnt work for you (as your board is not listed as supported/tested) u will have to set timings manualy to make your ram overclock stable

good luck :)

I had the same memory and had to return it and got the Gskill FlareX instead.  Most of my issues all disappeared.

Good day guys,

Just an update on my situation. I returned the motherboard back and got an Asus PRIME B350M-A instead. And it is very smooth and 100% stable even with the G. Skill Aegis memory kit. It works right of the box, no BIOS updates required. I have no problems running/installing the chipset drivers, graphics drivers works. Benchmarks all run fluently on Windows 10 1803. I was expecting drivers issues similar to Jayz and those stuff i watched on Youtube, but I didn't encounter any of them.

I was able to set the G. SKill Aegis to run at 2666 without a hitch on the PRIME. This is really disappointing since ASRock is my primary brand of choice. It seems they have a lot to work on with the B350 line.

I wish ASRock would do something about this. This is a serious problem that they need to address.

B450Ms are shipping just now. We can finally check what Asrock has done to manage the problem, or to realize if the problem still remaining in 2nd gen ryzen mobos.

Ryzen APU default votlage (1.40) may be more than the B350M can handle. So, Asrock may remove them form the compatible Ryzen 'processors' to use on B350M with no llc.
