My guess here; Gen1 forces PCIx 1.0 Gen2 forces PCIx 2.0 Auto allows system auto select of PCIx 1, 2 or 3. There is no problem. As TANWare said, the Auto setting allows the system to select any PCIe version based on what the hardware capabilities are.
