Hi,

My new homelab setup is:

Asrock GENOAD8X-2T/BCM (Bios 1.13)
AMD EPYC 9124
4x 32GB Micron MTC20F2085S1RC48BA1
2x KINGSTON SNV3S2000G M2 NVME

I have 2 active problems with this board:

1. BIOS never sees Kingston NVME in slot M2_1. All is enabled, PCIe mode selected - nothing. Switched with other identical NVME - still nothing. M2_2 slot is fine for both NVMEs. Tried to force Gen4 PCIe, still nothing.

2. I installed 3x Noctua NF-A14 PWM fans to slots FAN_3 to FAN_5. These are 4 pin fans. They constantly get fan failure events (speed reading issues according to BMC). Changed thresholds to 0, NA - nothing. At least I found out how to turn off max fan when failure, otherwise they were constantly changing speed to low -> high -> low ... CPU fan is in slot 1, also 4 pin fan, no issues.

Been reading the manual end to end, myself, chatgpt... but still nothing.

I found it very weird jumping from 1.13 to 10.05 beta. Release management seems to be very poor, change description is very laconic.

Where are proper release notes with list of changes?

10.05 beta fixed both issues. These are major issues and no notes!
... not even talking back porting fixes to public releases.

Too early, seems BIOS is still buggy. NVMe from M2_1 seems to show up only after proper power cycle. After a restart and it's gone again.

Is there a support who can help with that?

Hi, I have the same board and same problems of NVME just being ignored, seems Asrock is not really helping its customers, after purchasing a professional board you would at least expect, a serious bios update, the one you flashed seems very experimental. Did you have a 9005 processor while flashing ? I have a 9004 processor, I'm afraid to brick it when trying to flash it to this beta bios version, seems one on the forum already bricked his board.

By the way, in my case, the NVME never gets detected in either of the NVME slots.

I wanted to buy the cheapest 9005 series, which wasn't in the supported CPU list. They finally confirmed it almost a month later, so I already had Epyc 9124 delivered. I consulted with other techies if I should flash it, so in final I didn't have any options left (since support is close to non existent) and I flashed with Epyc 9124. So far it has been working like that, I just try not to restart that server.

100%... last stable BIOS is for 9004 series and released in 2023. It's 2025 now... this his horrific. Very hard to trust ASRock again after that.

Which NVMEs did you pick up?
