I'm having problems getting my new Z270 SuperCarrier to boot. With the board are an Intel i7 - 7700 (not K) CPU and two 8GB G.Skill Ripsjaws V DDR4 memory sticks.
Also connected to the board are... - (top left) the 8-pin ATX power connector from power supply - (top middle) the 4-pin CPU fan connector from fan that came with CPU - (right side) the 24-pin ATX power connector from power supply - (right side) the USB3 #5/6 connector from the case (have also tried without) - (bottom left) the HD audio connector from the case (have also tried without) - (bottom middle) the USB #3/4 connector from the case (have also tried without) - (bottom right) the case control/light connectors... <top row starting on the left> - power LED (+) - power LED (-) - power switch (+) - power switch (G) - no pin <bottom row starting on the left> - HDD LED (+) - HDD LED (-) - unused ground pin - reset switch (+) - reset switch (G)
I have no video cards installed as this is just going to be a file server and on-board video will be enough.
Every time I boot I get no signal on the monitor (using board's DisplayPort) and Dr. Debug jumbles around for a while eventually settling on various codes, some of which aren't mentioned in the manual.
Code 53 when no RAM is installed Code 55, then eventually 56, 57, 58, 59, 60 (it ticks back and forth between these over time) with one RAM installed in slot 1, or two in slots 1 and 2, or 1 and 3, or 2 and 4.
No difference of I try each RAM stick separately in slot 1 No difference if I flip the (top right) XMP switch on or off No difference if i connect the (bottom right) 6-pin graphics connector from power supply
I have not touched the jumpers.
The case fans are all running, as is the CPU fan, and the built in lights on the board are slowly pulsing on and off. It is not rebooting by itself but does respond to the power and reset buttons on the board and on the case.
Have I done something wrong, are the parts incompatible, or is something broken? |
