Hi all.

I have a new ASRock Server motherboard (C2750D4I).  It seems to work OK.
But what drive configuration do you recommend?
I installed Windows like 1000 times, but this is more complex.
There are 6 Marvel SATA3 connectors and 6 Intel SATA2 connectors. (The manual says the Intel White SATA_1 and SATA_2 connectors are full-speed SATA3)

I have a 2.5" SSD I want as the boot drive, and 2 x 3TB drives I want in RAID 1 for the data drive.
What connector is best for the SSD and which for the 2 RAID drives?

The Manual suggests I use the boot drive in the slower Intel Ports.  (seems dumb)
Do I need to install RAID drives in the BIOS directly if I want RAID?

Or simply install all drives on the Marvel connectors (enable UEFI), select the SSD as the boot, then later install the RAID 1 in Windows?

What do you suggest? Thanks!

SO at somepoint u run out of Lanes the CPU can support and the u have to use ThirdParty chips for that.

Your board has:
  1. 2 SATA3 6.0Gbps, 4 SATA2 3.0Gbps by C2750
  2. 4 x SATA3 6.0 Gb/s by Marvell SE9230, 2 x SATA3 6.0 Gb/s by Marvell SE9172

This means your Blue Sata Connectors are only SATA2 3.0 GBPS.

It is suggested. to use the Slower Connection for OS because u usually only load it once and use the faster connection for DATA that gets accessed frequently.
I dont really now about your Board but i only use the BIOS to create a Raid if i want to install windows On it.
