" rel="nofollow - Just a question, would it be ok to have my Wraith Prism CPU fan at max speeds all the time? I don't mind the noise, but it does keep my CPU cooler while gaming. I usually hit about 65c under load with performance mode, and now I have it at 100% all the time and my temps under load are 58c.

Thanks.

I would think that running a fan at max speed will reduce it's lifespan overall, but the thing should be rated to last x number of hours, which should be available printed somewhere.  That number will likely be at 100% speed, unless otherwise stated.

Why not ask AMD what the expected lifetime of the fan in that cooler is, when running at 100%.  Contact them directly, as it's their product, and I doubt many folks here will know.

By the way, the fan will be made by a fan manufacturer, and maybe renamed/branded for AMD.  AMD very likely do not make any fans themselves.

apperently coolermaster make all amd fans for them

but to disagree a little ,i think fan life will probably be measured at say 40% for life span

well they used to be rated/tested at 40% duty

myself i would stick to letting it manage itself ,and maybe if i had worries or wanted to help it out fit two 120mm case fans inlet and exhaust

Thanks all. I think I will leave it at performance mode and look for an AIO cooler from Corsair. I guess 65c under load is not so bad :D
