" rel="nofollow - Hi guys,
I just did a new build with

Fatal1ty x299 xe
i9 7940x
G.Skill 128 Gb, 3200 Mhz F4-3200C14Q2-128GTZR

The ram is listed in the compatibility matrix of the motherboard.

First trial has given a b7 code meaning an issue with the memory.

Question: do I need to update the BIOS (with instant flash) to the latest version in order to work with this RAM at 3200 Mhz? can this be a solution?

Later tonight I am going to uninstall everything and do a progressive check. Just want to know if I flashing the BIOS is also an option to try or if it won't solve anything.

Thanks
Marco

keep in mind that anything higher then 2666MHZ memory is considered overclocking since Intels CPU''s only support 2666 on paper. You might need to do some Voltage adjustments.
