" rel="nofollow - Hello everyone.
Strange things happen with my new m/b j4105-itx - can't boot linux OS installer from USB stick. Have tried fresh Ubuntu and Debian and all of this in different combinations:
- making bootable USB stick with Rufus and Unetbootin (both freshest)
- turning Secure Boot in BIOS on and off again
- changing USB ports at m/b (all)
- changing USB drives (three)
- using different types of distros - from minimal/network to full
- removing all other drives from m/b
- resetting PC, resetting BIOS, resetting power and so on

Current BIOS is v.1.40. All bootable media I made work on my other PC without any problems.
I can see the string with the name of the USB stick on the screen when I'm choosing (F11) boot device.
But when I press on it nothing happens. It seems that the system just dont try to use it.

Any ideas?

" rel="nofollow - Do you use an USB 2.0 oder USB 3.0/3.1 device?
Do you use Front-USB oder the USB ports at the rearpanel?

If you use Front-USB try to use an USB port at the rear panel.

It you use an USB 3 device try an USB 2 device (or vice versa).

Take care to use UEFI (because the board doesn't support legacy BIOS boot).

Possible problem: the connectors for Front-USB for USB2 and 3 are shared. Take a careful look to the manual.
It's not suggested to mix these USB 2 and USB 3 connectors, but it's working on my board. But if you mix them, take care to use the correct USB-2-connector.

Or if also the rearpanel USB ports are not working, try to unconnect all front USB connectors.

An consider the incorrect manual where the PINs for the USB connectors are numbered wrong.
