" rel="nofollow - I am just turning on a new X370 Pro4 MB and Ryzen 1800x CPU and trying to get to BIOS> I have no GPU plugged in as I was trying to use the on board video. I have my monitor plugged into the HDMI port but I am not even sure that is supported on a brand X370 Pro4. SHould I expect to have video on the HDMI port with no GPU plugged in?

When I start up the PSU and turn on the MB the CPU fan turns on a sound like there is a bit of cycling going on but I have no video.

I have a AMD RX480 I can plug in but really wanted to see the on board video working. Do I need to use the DVI-D or the D-sub ports instead of HDMI? I only have HDMI monitors.

Ryzen 1800X DOES NOT have a built-in GPU, nor does your mobo has an on-board video. There is no way you'd get video signal with 1st iteration Ryzens.

You should either use your RX480 or get some of the 2nd iteration Ryzens that have integrated GPU, e.g. 2400X or similar.

Thanks for the heads up. For some reason I was thinking this MB had on board video. Plugged in the GPU and all was fine.
