Here is the thing with ASRock - their top shelf mobos are very well engineered, BUT they lack severely in the BIOS/SW department. Stability is a big word here...

ASRock's mid/low tier is pure garbage, if what people in this forum write is to be believed.

MSI, Gigabyte, Biostar are all known for being way more problematic.

If anything, I'd go for a X470 mobo from ASUS, or at least a X470 one. This way you can easily upgrade to Ryzen 2nd gen and benefit from PBO and XFR2, StoreMI and similar.

" rel="nofollow - Every brand has winners and losers.  Asrock's X470 Taichi is excellent IMO.  The low end stuff is iffy.  MSI has some nice B450 boards, not so enthused about their lower end X470's.  You have to look at boards and lines individually.

You're doing a 1700 build?  MSI B450 Tomahawk is one good choice.  Asus ROG Strix B450.  Asrock Taichi X470.  I unfortunately don't know the Gigabyte line very well.
