New owner of a x470 Taichi paired with a 2700X. I am looking for information regarding configuring XFR/PBO. This BIOS is a bit different from my C7H and I'm struggling some finding my way around and translating the available options.
In OC tweaker: Changed OC mode to Manual Left the APU/PCI freq at 100 Left CPU Freq and Voltage to Auto AMD CBS SMT mode Enabled Enabled XMP profile for RAM DRAM 3200 Advanced: AMD CBS \NBIO Common Options\XFR Enhancement I accepted and set to Enable I left everything else at defaults. System is working pretty well and almost as good as my C7H also with a 2700X (I think that chip has better silicon but I am not swapping cpu's to confirm. I think it's just my unfamiliarity with the ASRock eco system that's holding me back some. I keep thinking there is more that I could be doing (not including mem tuning, I'll do that after CPU is set). Any helpful advice is welcome as to what I could look at. I do not want all core OC. I like XFR/PBO and as it stands what I stumbled through is not doing all that bad. I just think there's more for to look at. https://i.imgur.com/ifrSxzt.jpg |

Thanks - I did a little bit of tuning. I added an offset -0.08750 which interestingly enough raised my VID up bit but not dramatic but from 1.444 to 1.456V For grins I tried adding some bclk. I was only stable at 101 something in my system did not like 102 it would lock up after 5 mins or so in the OS. But 101 was stable for 90 minutes of prime95. I did notice that Core Temp was displaying some of my core freqs as 7447 MHz ... so that app at least was not liking it and I did not do any diskmark bench's to see if pcie i/o was stable with my nvme or sata's but I did get a decent cb score. I ended up dropping the bclk back to 100 because I know I'm solid there. I did a couple cb passes there and Im hitting mid 1881-1886 consistently.. I'll keep playing with the offsets and tighten the timings on the me kit. Which I had up to 3400 with the XMP cl14 3200 timings no worries. https://imgur.com/rTjVvRH |

Ended up with the following:
Left BCLK at 100 Enabled PBO vcore offest -0.08750 Tune ram via Ryzen calculator, fast settings. DRAM 3.365 All core under load 4175 PBO boosting to 4350 idle 2200 I may want to try dropping ram to 3.55v but for the sake of this thread I'm done. |

It seems the negative offset is limite to -0.1V.
It would be great if this could be increased so we can try even lower. Given the chips have been out for over a year and e.g. my new one is on stepping B2, the latest (good quality) ones may well be able to run at an even lower voltage. |

Absolutely.
Every chip/setup is different. It's good to have options though. :) |
