All:
Z370 Taichi- I might add a second USB3.1-capable 12TB WD MyBookDuo for more DAS (Direct Attached Storage"). I wish I could find "USB3.2" (faster) units! I am a photographer and the interaction between editing software and a faster DAS would help me a bit. I like the WesternDigital's offering because it allows RAID for redundancy. So the current WD unit is allowing 5.something actual capacity. My second unit would be configured in the same way: just 6TB available as RAID 1. My Taichi Z370 board has two native USB3 connectors on the back plane(different connector shapes but the same speed, I think, on each). I am wondering if I will get the *same bandwidth* into a a second DAS unit attached to the motherboard - from whatever on-board controller runs these two connectors. The other demands on this mobo are simple: a 1060 GPU (ASUS) with just 3Gig GRAM. There's 32 Gig regular RAM. One PCIe boar is a slot and allows a couple of WiFi dongles. I use USB 3 bandwidth at the front for card readers, a printer, and sometimes a HD dock. The usual. Will the second WD MyBookDuo get the same bandwidth I now have? Thanks, in advance, jonathan7007 |
