I bought a used x370 Taichi motherboard, and was dusting it clean before putting into my new build.
It was JUST the motherboard with CPU and RAM in their sockets, no PSU power cables attached. The Motherboard's battery is in place. I accidentally pressed the CMOS button on the back. Would that do anything? Thanks, Jeff |

You are fine, all it could do is reset to CMOS defaults which I always do anyway on a new build

Thank you both! I know pressing it on full power would have been a big NO-NO, but wasn't sure on a full unpowered state. I'm relieved!
Yes, it's not a bad thing to start a used MoBo from default. |
