970a-g/3.1 motherboard boot issue

   So I just got the 970a-g/3.1 motherboard and I'm having an issue getting the PC to boot now when it powers on the display will be blank or not even turn on and when it finally does come on the pc will freeze up b4 it even gets to the setup menu. Anyone else have this issue or maybe know how I can fix it?
