Topic: Can't overclock or flash previous BIOSPosted: 19 Aug 2019 at 5:46am |

I was having issues with my new RAMs XMP profile not working so I updated my BIOS to 3.40 from 1.90 and now the XMP profile works fine but my CPU won't overclock. When I reboot it stays stuck at it's core clock no matter what GHz or voltage I choose, and the BIOS flash is not showing up in the UEFI, so I can't try a previous BIOS version. I am using Ryzen 7 1700 and X470 Master Sli/ac. Anyone have suggestions on getting the overclock to work or how to fix being able to flash to a previous BIOS?

According to the website for your motherboard, you can't flash back earlier than 3.40.
How are you attempting to overclock? Through bios, Ryzen Master, or another way? Finally, are you saying you are stuck at the base clock of 3.0 GHz, or the boost clock of 3.7 GHz? If you are stuck at the base clock, did you check to see if core performance boost (CPB) is enabled? |

I am using the BIOS and CPB is enabled. It is stuck at it's core clock 3.0 The only reason I was wanting to flash to previous BIOS was to see if I could get the Overclocking and XMP working by doing that.

After rebooting the system from bios again without changing anything the XMP profile stopped working again. Seems like the BIOS is unstable or something? I'm going to try to reset CMOS to see if that will fix it
